Bournemouth Associates coach trip to Ottery St. Mary and Sidmouth
On Tuesday 24th June, forty-one of us spent a memorable day at Ottery St. Mary, Devon. |
 |
We all so enjoyed visiting the wonderful nursery there. The plants were all so obviously well cared for and several of our members purchased rarely seen plants which they had been looking for some time.
I’m sure we all enjoyed our lunch in the very pleasant cafeteria which offered a very comprehensive menu – it really makes my mouth water just thinking about it!
Within the nursery was a very attractive Gift Shop as well as a fashionable clothes department from which most of our group left with full carrier bags.

The first photograph is of Chris Hockey – an active member and volunteer visitor of the Associate Scheme. Since retiring, Chris has really excelled at Water Colour and Oil Painting. She was thrilled to find this waterfall at the Nursery as she has been longing to paint one for some time.

During the afternoon our coach took us to Sidmouth. |
Here is a delightful Edwardian seaside resort. We just had time for an ice cream and quick sunbathe before we were on our way home.

Our second photograph shows some of our party outside the coach at Sidmouth – this is not all of them – I think some were camera shy or just too tired to pose.
We always seem to be so lucky with the weather so its fingers crossed now for our next trip to the Isle of Wight in August.
