THE LONDON TRAMPERS AT WOODHAM FERRERS.
"Lost". Not so much a ramble more like a shamble. Relying on cow pats and bush markers does not work. Twenty six turned up for this one - not bad.
When we did the pre-walk it seemed pretty straightforward, but when it came to doing the walk ten minutes in and the route just didn't seem to work out. Like a scene from a Benny Hill Show, we turned back and had another go but we were lost!
After a lot of apologies - I had to admit defeat, 45 minutes into the walk we headed back to the pub, had a look around the local churchyard and went into the pub for lunch a little bit early.
You can imagine the jibes I was getting. This is the first time that I have got lost and it's one I want to forget, but I'm sure I won't be allowed to for a while. In the future I will have to use a rather large ball of string!!
As a consolation I did have plenty of offers to guide me back to my car in the pub car park!

The meal was good and the group were still smiling, so it couldn't have been that bad.
Fingers crossed next time or I will get the sack and have to take on the role of "Tail-end Charlie".
